Why Choose a Mini Session?
In this post I am going to explain a mini session to clarify and help my clients decide whether a mini session is right for their families.

Mini sessions are a great way to update family photos around holidays, make Christmas cards, for special occasions, or to give as a gift to someone you love. You'll get usually 5 or 10 digital files depending on the package offered for that specific mini session theme and sometimes you'll have the option to purchase the entire gallery for an amount pre-defined by the photographer.
The only question I have for you is, does your child warm up to new people immediately or do they need time to get used to a photographer before they loosen up? The reason I ask this is because mini sessions last only 15 minutes. With a full session you have a lot more time for use to get to know each other. If you are ok with capturing images of your kids however their moods may be that day than a mini session is for you!
Like I just stated above, mini sessions last 15 minutes. You need to be on time or a couple of minutes before so you can prepare your family. There are several sessions before and after your session and there will not be extra time outside of your time slot to get extra photos if you are late.
Mini sessions are offered at a reduced price for you and are a great way to get professional photos without having to break the family budget or for those that like to do many sessions throughout the year.
Typically, most of my mini sessions have themes and location pre-defined, especially if they’re held seasonally. Make sure you like the location, props and it falls in line with what you were hoping for in your pictures.
A full session is typically around an hour depending on the package you've chosen. When you book a full session, you'll have me, all to yourself! Your session will be my main focus of the day. We won't hurry and we will focus to get the shots you want. There will be much more pre-planning to make your photoshoot more customized. The location will be your choice. There will be more time to get your baby to open up, your toddler to smile and to get playful/candid shots. Outfit changes and props are always welcomed with a full session. The result is a more relaxed session and a beautiful variety of images.
Mini sessions are great if you just want a few good quality professional photos in a quick time slot. Mini sessions are great and I love to shoot them but you need to keep in mind that it is not a one size fits all.
The truth is that you can’t go wrong with a mini or a full session, they are both great and you'll end up with amazing images! The only way you can go wrong is choosing not to capture memories of your family.
